Board of DirectorsThe Community Associations Institute of Georgia Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the chapter's operations and helping the Chapter accomplish the purposes and objectives of both the national organization and the Georgia Chapter. The CAI Georgia Board of Directors works closely with its Executive Director and the Chapter Committees to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved.
2024 EXECUTIVE BOARD President Joseph C. Larkin serves as a litigation counsel for community associations of all sizes in all phases of civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Joe has participated in litigation involving community association law, premises liability, general liability, professional liability, construction defect, insurance, business litigation and real estate. Joe has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers, which is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Vice President President Elect Miye is a partner with the law firm of Winter Capriola Zenner, LLC. Her practice areas include all aspects of community association law including general corporate matters, assessment collection litigation, and covenant enforcement litigation. Miye also writes and lectures on many topics relevant to community associations including covenant enforcement and collection strategies, bankruptcies and foreclosures. Miye earned her B.A. degree in English Literature from the University of Georgia and her J.D. degree from New York Law School where she was an executive board member of the Moot Court Association. Miye is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. As an active member in CAI Georgia since 2007, Miye has served in multiple committees over the years. More recently, she co-chaired the CAI Cares Committee to raise money and resources to fully fund and build the CAI Georgia House with Habitat for Humanity in 2016. Miye received the CAI Georgia Doyle P. Jones Leadership Award in 2016 and the CAI Georgia Rita Kennedy Award in 2017. In addition to her active involvement in CAI Georgia, Miye is also a member of the Korean American Bar Association and provides pro bono legal services through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, Inc. In her spare time, Miye enjoys reading and traveling with her family. Secretary Tracy was born and raised in South Carolina. In 1993 she moved to Nashville where she got into the Apartment industry. She then moved to Atlanta and obtained a Real Estate license in 2005 and started her career in association management. Tracy started out as a portfolio manager and then went to be a on site manager. In 2014, Tracy went to work at Homeowner Management Services, Inc. (HMS), as a Director of Business Development. She was quickly promoted to Vice President and ic currently the President of HMS. Tracy has been extremely involved over the year with CAI-Georgia, serving on several committees, served as the Membership Outreach Committee Chair and in 2018 received the “Rising Star Award.” Tracy has a passion for working out and in her free time she enjoys attending concerts and sporting events. She has 2 daughters that are her world. Treasurer Kyle enjoys and has volunteered for the CAI Cares committee and held a position on the CAI Golf Committee since 2014, chairing the committee in 2019 and 2020. Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 daughters. He has a passion for sailing, the outdoors, and still loves to participate in the best golf tournament of the year with CAI! Past President Jennifer has a background in Real Estate and Property Management and is currently a business developer in the Atlanta area. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in the East Cobb area of Marietta where she resides with her son. She enjoys playing tennis, cooking and spending time with family. Jennifer Fournier has been an active member of CAI-Georgia for the past 8 years and served on several committees during that time. She served as the Tennis Committee Chair for two years and the Programs Committee Chair for two years. Jennifer was named to the Board of Directors as a homeowner leader and received the 2018 Doyle P. Jones Leadership Award. Jennifer made history serving as the first ever CAI-Georgia homeowner leader President in 2023! DIRECTORS Director Danny Ellis is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience in operating and managing commercial and residential communities. As a Market President of the South Region at FirstService Residential, he plays a pivotal role in overseeing operations and driving growth initiatives in Georgia, Tennessee, and the Florida Panhandle. Since joining FirstService Residential in 2012, Danny has been instrumental in expanding the company's footprint in Georgia, Tennessee and the Florida Panhandle. His strategic vision and leadership have contributed to the development of high-performing teams dedicated to operational and service excellence. Under his guidance, FirstService Residential has established a strong presence in the region, solidifying its reputation as a leader in community management. A licensed Community Association Manager (CAM), Danny brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. His commitment to professional development is evident through his attainment of an Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation and The Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) designation. These certifications, coupled with his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama, reflects his dedication to staying at the forefront of industry trends and best practices. Danny also served 4 years as a board member including one year as President of the North Gulf Coast Chapter of CAI. Widely recognized as a leader in HOA (Homeowners Association) and COA (Condominium Owners Association) management, Danny Ellis stands as a driving force behind the success and growth of FirstService Residential in the South Region. His passion for excellence, coupled with his extensive experience and qualifications, positions him as an influential leader in shaping the future of HOA/COA living in the southeastern United States. Director David has solid experience managing communities, including seven years’ service on a condominium Board and 17 years as a licensed manager. He has held a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation since 2009. David’s HOA-related volunteer work includes regularly mentoring others, guest speaking, and penning articles. He also served on a commission to update testing for Georgia community management licensing. At CAI, David is a former chair for the Georgia magazine committee, has been honored with Georgia Educator of the Year and Doyle P Jones Leadership awards, and currently serves on the CAI Georgia Legislative Action Committee. Prior to joining our industry, David earned a BBA in Accounting and held various positions ranging from government work (with the Texas Department of Transportation) to establishing a residential lending company. David is a television buff, and an avid reader, keeping up on the latest regulatory developments, following various scientific research projects, and enjoying biographies of influential individuals. He and his family reside in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Director Penelope has been in the Community Association Industry since 2004 and is currently the Director of Business Development at Crabapple LandscapExperts. She was born in Ohio and moved to Georgia in 2003, and currently resides with her daughter in Cumming, GA. Penelope has been an active member of CAI-Georgia for the past 19 years and served on several committees during that time. She served as the Fundraising Committee Chair for two years and continued to serve on the committee as it’s Treasurer and then Secretary, before joining the Board. Penelope enjoys spending every moment she can outdoors, with her daughter/family/friends, and living a healthy and active life. Director Director As an active member of CAI-Georgia, Joe previously chaired the Fundraising Committee. Due to his dedication to the Chapter, he was the 2021 Rising Star Award recipient. Joe was elected to the CAI-Georgia Board of Directors in 2023 and has the honor to serve as the liaison for the 2024 Social Committee. In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time with his family. He has a passion for the outdoors, fishing and spoiling his grandchildren. We are very grateful to our current Board of Directors and all those that have served in this capacity! |
